Since the beginning, I've been following Way to Train with interest and considering a coaching program. Last year, however, I chose another online coaching company, where I was very satisfied with the guidance for 8 months.

Nevertheless, last summer, I decided to start training myself again, but due to injuries, I lost track and lost the pleasure of training. A shoulder injury led me to run and register for the Rotterdam Marathon, but without a plan, I also suffered a knee tendon injury, I didn't know what to do for a while.

A good friend of mine, Melvin, had already achieved great results under the guidance of Way to Train. His positive experiences caught my attention, and after contacting Jelmer via Instagram, I decided to start a coaching program, despite my injuries and the prospect of the marathon. Jelmer convinced me that they could support me in these areas, which gave me confidence to take the step.

The contact was pleasant and in no time the coaching process was over and I started with the plan of action that Jelmer had drawn up for me. The first week consisted of a week of complete rest. This felt strange to be taking a full week of rest after two years of full strength training, but it did me good. After this week, I started the training schedule.

The clear structure and the ability to provide feedback gave me peace and confidence. In the feedback moments, we discussed training, nutrition, sleep, stress and, of course, running. Every week, I got new goals and learning opportunities, which kept it challenging. I also appreciated the physical contact moments that Way to Train offered. Every other week or every two weeks, I was able to make an appointment on location, where we reviewed the past period and carried out exercises together. The first time, I was a bit nervous, but the contact with my coaches immediately felt familiar and friendly, making me feel at ease.

Although my marathon is fast approaching, I continue to struggle with leg injuries. My confidence started to falter, but thanks to Jelmer, I came into contact with an experienced physiotherapist who specializes in running.

Together, we have drawn up a plan and the focus is now on recovering and completing the marathon. With the support and guidance of Jelmer and Floris, I am convinced that I will achieve my goal.
